From Marc Sylvester...

In the midst of this COVID lockdown, with the loss of access to the pageantry arts and galleries and openings, I felt a growing desire to leave my mark.

This idea that I can point to something tangible and say 'This is my response to the fear and discord surrounding a once if a lifetime global pandemic.'

Outside my space is a roof deck surrounded by barbed wire and open brick and cement walls.

Without any real plan I went to the roof with a handful of street chalk and a bunch of cans of spray paint and over a series of days, I transformed blank walls into a space filled with color and light.

"Urban Gardens" is now my marching band, drum corps, colorguard show.

A creative space filled with concepts and possibilities.

I am in the process of producing work in various media for this concept.

In addition to this outdoor work, there will be a series of limited edition, numbered prints of these murals.

I am delighted to be given this opportunity to give back to an activity that has given me so much pleasure and a treasure trove of friendships!

The winner will receive the first print, 1/20 in what I plan to be the beginning of an exciting new direction creatively for me.
