Krug Grande Cuvée is born from the dream of one man, Joseph Krug, to craft the very best Champagne he could offer, every single year, regardless of annual variations in climate. Each year, the House of Krug honours this dream with a new Édition of Krug Grande Cuvée: the most generous expression of Champagne.

The 168ème Édition of Krug Grande Cuvée was composed around the harvest of 2012, a beautiful year with a low yield due to the panoply of meteorological events the region endured. Frost, rain, storms and hale all hit the vineyards of Champagne in winter and spring 2012, followed by the driest ripening season since 1974, resulting in 20% fewer grapes.

Creamy, buttery, salty shortbread notes on the nose signal generosity right away. That lovely, salty sense of richness persists as the Champagne warms up and a streak of candied lemon peel appears. The palate unites that salt-driven depth with great intensity and backs it up with luminous briskness. Yes, there is generous, buttery richness but also real raciness. Persistent bubbles serve up nuances that have yet to blossom: a hint of maple syrup, a pigment of dried shiitake against that enduring notion of crumbly, buttery shortcrust, enlivened every now and then by an ozone breeze.

2018 Lambert Bridge Chardonnay Sonoma County

This Chardonnay benefitted from a long and steady growing season in 2018. Extended hang-time in the vineyard gave us beautiful, perfectly ripened fruit, harvested in four separate picks over the course of two weeks in late September. The butterscotch and brioche evident in the nose are a direct result of Jen's painstaking effort in the vineyard, as is the brilliant acidity that makes this wine so luscious with food. You'll discover flavors of Asian pear, toasted hazelnut, freshly grated nutmeg pod, and even a hint of vanilla bean introduced by our French oak barrels. This wine tastes fresh and bright and is perfect for just about any occasion that comes to mind!

2008 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2008 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a medium ruby color and aromatics reminiscent of cinnamon, black pepper, cassis and Bing cherry. It has a beautiful fruit-sweet core upon entry, a well-framed mid-palate, and a finish displaying roasted meat flavors and still marked by strong tannins. Given proper cellaring, this wine should improve through 2028.

Duckhorn Cabernet Sauvignon Trio

2013 Patzimaro Vineyard

This bright, red-fruited cabernet grew at an estate vineyard in western St. Helena, on light, gravelly soils at the base of Spring Mountain. Its time in (mostly new) French oak took the cranberry and floral strawberry flavors of the grapes toward warm baking spice and a rich, spherical structure. What's impressive about that richness is that it comes without any excess weight, allowing the cool tannins of the vintage and the beauty of the fruit to last. It ends on a bright note of roses, of red fruit and savory, cracked-peppercorn spice, clean and refreshing.

Jordan 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon, Alexander Valley (2 bottles)

Aromas of black cherries wrapped in a spice box of nutmeg, clove and allspice jump from the glass. The palate is filled with flavors of black currants and plum that lead seamlessly to silky tannins and black cherry notes. Blackberry, Mission fig and black cherry notes linger on the finish. Oakville Ranch Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

The intense color of this Cabernet - a hallmark of Oakville Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon - mirrors its heady aromas of ripe blackberry and blueberry, Jordan almond and dried rose petal. The driest year on record in a string of drought years, the 2014 vintage was marked by moderate temperatures during the growing season, allowing gradual ripening and flavor development. Ripe and intense, this Cabernet shows excellent focus and definition of fruit. It is generous on the palate, integrating ripe fruit with creamy and delicately resinous oak, hinting at cocoa and graphite and leading to a flavorful and persistent finish.

Oakville Ranch Napa Valley Chardonnay 2016

The 2016 vintage was near perfect, as Napa Valley began to ease out of a prolonged drought and thirsty vines recovered, yielding a moderate size crop. The growing season avoided the extremes of both frost and high heat, allowing smooth and even ripening, ideal for optimum flavor development. The ideal growing season especially favored the 2016 Chardonnay, where each of the three Bobcat block clones brought a distinct flavor and expressive aroma to the harmonious blend.

Full-bodied and bright, the 2016 Chardonnay is an exceptional wine, seamlessly weaving the aromas of nectarine and peach with notes of cardamom and almond. On the palate, the same flavors of juicy summer fruit and apricot toast are touched with creamy nougat from a hint of oak. The finish is mouthwatering, refreshing and persistent.

Rombauer 2019 Carneros Chardonnay (2 bottles)

Pale light yellow with a green hue. Aromas of ripe peach, honeydew, and lemon rind intertwine seamlessly with vanilla and spice. The aromas are followed by flavors of lychee and yellow peach which meld perfectly with the cream texture, vanilla and slight butter. The finish builds with more peach and spice, while the acidity maintains the freshness and structure. Joseph Phelps 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon

Marked by very careful making as much as it is by the deep and incisive, blackcurrant fruit of authentic Cabernet Sauvignon with a discreet complement of neatly placed oak lending a boost in overall richness without ever challenging that fruit, this balanced, moderately full-bodied wine stays in frame from beginning to end with integrated tannins providing a nice, not overbearing, bit of ageworthy grip. Expect a fairly long life, a good ten years without fail, but its already evident polish suggests that it will be hard to resist in half that time.
