Elephants are such powerful and majestic creatures; they simultaneously captivate the hearts of countless individuals for their caring dispositions towards each other. In this piece I wanted to capture the sweet spirits of these sentient Asian Elephants with an emphasis on creating natural textures. This piece was created with a black ball-point pen to bring the focal point of the piece on the beauty of these naturally monotone creatures' with a colorful personality.

In this piece, I journeyed into using abstract art to bring a sense of immersion into an ideal scenery. The use of bright and cheerful colors in combination with calming and joy-evoking pigments were meant allow oneself to escape from the present and into an place where one might spend a lovely, and peaceful time morning or early afternoon.

This piece was the second out of a four part series exploring beyond the present physical moments and assumptions. Although many, including some loved ones in my life, may find relief from various things by smoking, it is a fix that only lasts for a moment. The color scheme and design I went with for this piece was meant to evoke a sense of complacency. By contrasting yellow, a color often associated with hope and joy with, and black to bring the morbid reality to the forefront of the piece. Mediums used include graphite and acrylics.

Own this set of 10 children's books written and illustrated by local students who are recent immigrants to the U.S.. These personal stories embody the perseverance, gratitude, love, and hope that immigrants bring with them. Several books have been translated into 2 or 3 languages by the students themselves. Each memoir will bring a smile to your face. Knowing that all proceeds benefit college scholarships to Aiken High School graduates will warm your heart!
All of the funds raised from this item will be added to the scholarships of our scholarship recipients who are graduating this spring from Aiken High School.
