After careful consideration, Key Chorale is extremely excited to present a live stream event for your convenience and comfort on March 1st, 2021 at 5:30 pm. The Student Scholar Soirée will showcase solos and group numbers from the Key Chorale Student Scholars as they entertain you with songs from Classics to Broadway. Our appreciation for your support is limitless.

Because of the postponement of our annual fundraising luncheon we are incorporating our usual fundraising efforts into this event. NEW for 2021! We invite you to take a chance (or several) on our three (3) exciting prize packages! All proceeds go towards Key Chorale's Music & Mission.

How will the event work?

Before the soirée:

Welcome to our GiveSmart site!  Here you will be asked to enter your information so that you are prepared to participate in our Tomorrow's Voices Tonight Live Stream. Your cell phone number is a key piece of information for this as you will be able to donate throughout the live stream via text. We will also be sending you messages leading up to the event with important reminders.

When registering in GiveSmart, you will be asked to put a credit card on file. Please don't be alarmed; we will not be charging this card this unless you choose to purchase a chance or initiate a donation. Having your card on file from the start ensures that you are prepared to give when we arrive at the paddle raise and more.

You can use this website to view and purchase chances for our Perfect Pitch Prizes. Descriptions of each prize, pictures, and links are housed here so that you can choose which fabulous prizes you want to purchase chances for as you support Key Chorale's music and mission.

You can also use this website to donate to Key Chorale. Every donation from this page goes toward our fundraising goal and is greatly appreciated!

During the soirée:

Our guests will receive an email within 24 hours of the event including a link to join us live at 5:30 pm on March 1st. Through our live streamed video, you will be able to experience the event from the convenience of your own phone, laptop, or tablet. You'll have the best seat in the house for the various presentations, musical numbers, and events of the evening. Being live, you will have the joy of finding out if you are the winner of any of our Perfect Pitch Prizes as soon as the winners are announced. Throughout the show, our guests will have donation buttons right next to the video to help us meet our night's goal. There will also be a running donation total visible so you can watch us grow closer to our goal in real time. Guests will be receiving texts the day of the event and can use mobile options to give as well. We are excited for you to join us for this live event!

After the soirée:

The recording of the live stream event will remain available until March 15. If you have purchased a ticket, but are unable to join us or experienced technical difficulties, you will have another opportunity to view the show! While the winners of the Perfect Pitch Prizes will already have been drawn, you will still be able to make a donation in support of our student scholar program.

What is Key Chorale's Student Scholar Program?

The Key Chorale Student Scholar Program is a music education outreach program for qualified high school choral members from Sarasota and Manatee County high schools who sing with Key Chorale during its performance season. This experience is designed for students with an exceptional aptitude for music, who plan to further their musical studies after high school. There is a required minimum high school GPA of 3.0, to encourage academic commitment along with musical commitment. Student Scholars are recommended by their choir director and selected through competitive auditions. This program has grown from 4 students in 2017-18 to more than 15 each year, with all experiences being made available at no cost to the selected participants.

Program Highlights:

• Private voice lessons with Key Chorale approved instructors. For the 2019-20 season, Key Chorale instructors gave more than 140 hours of private instruction
• Each scholar is assigned a Key Chorale mentor for the season
• Coaching and preparation for college auditions
• Student participation in rehearsals and performances of four major programs with professional orchestra and world-class soloists
• Opportunity to rehearse and perform under the baton of our professional conductor
• Coaching by our professionals on the business side of music, including auditions, resume writing, appearance, preparation, etc.
• Workshops and master classes with Key Chorale guest artists
• Participation in a "Soirée and Recital" showcasing solos and group numbers as the students perform in front of an intimate audience of Key Chorale supporters and other singers
• Free sheet music, travel reimbursement, waived administrative fee, performance apparel, music folder, name badge, and 2 season tickets for parents/family

Goals:

• Inspire a lifelong love and even a career in vocal music
• Build good citizens as well as good musicians
• Provide tools and experiences beyond the scope of what public school music programs can offer
