Trained as a painter and a printer, local artist, Mary Mark, has been creating linocuts in a wide assortment of vivid colors. While pitting negative and positive spaces against each other, the image emerges from the block over months of carving and printing multiple layers of color until it evolves into the original idea. "Beyond the Patio" is a reduction linocut in 18 colors. Vibrant primary colors are used in this complex and intricate piece. The table with fruit, flowers and chairs at either end is set in a garden scene. Mounted on a dark red background, the 29" by 22 inch linocut is matted in warm white. Fillet matches the inner edge of the antique gold frame while the artwork is under glass. The piece measures 41 by 33 inches and will brighten a space in any room. Item must be picked up at CET or ThinkTV. Shipping is not available.
