Indiana University's Sample Gates serve as an entrance into the oldest part of the current Bloomington campus. They were constructed in 1987 but the idea to have a gateway on Kirkwood Avenue originated in 1883 once the university moved to its current location. Over four decades, ten designs for the gates were submitted but none were approved until 1968. Unfortunately funding for the project was withdrawn in the early 70s and the plan for a gateway fell apart.

Then in the 1980s alumnus Edson Sample requested to fund the project in honor of his parents. The gateway project began taking shape, and the construction coincided with a previous plan to add landscaping, brick paths, and benches to the area. Today the Sample Gates have become one of the most iconic places on campus with graduates flocking there to take photos in their caps and gowns and alumni visiting to reminisce.

Thirty-five of these bunkers are original to the course that Ross constructed in 1917. The course is a par 70 and plays to 7,000 yards. The Donald Ross course has been rated the No. 2 public course in Indiana by GolfWeek every year since 2011.

French Lick Scenic Railway - The Polar Express

Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, passengers will relive the magic of the classic story as they are whisked away on THE POLAR EXPRESS for a magical 80 minute trip through a rail yard, neighborhoods and through a tunnel on the way to The North Pole. Once on board, your conductor will work their way through the coach and punch your ticket before hot chocolate and a delicious cookie are served by dancing chefs. Passengers then read along with the classic children's book, The Polar Express, by Chris Van Allsburg.

Santa and his helpers board the train to greet passengers and each guest is given the first gift of Christmas - a silver sleigh bell. Horse Soldier Commander's Select is curated by the U.S. Army Green Berets who answered America's call days after 9/11, with a daring insertion into northern Afghanistan mounted on horseback. This brave and unconventional act earned them the moniker of "Horse Soldiers." These same men make the bottle presented here with the image of the America's Response Monument which overlooks Ground Zero in New York City.

This bottle of Horse Soldier Commander's Select Bourbon has been autographed by members of the Horse Soldier American Green Berets team.

This year's batch is a limited edition bottle of only 2,000 produced from barrels hand-selected by the Commander of the Horse Soldiers. It is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon at 13 years old. It is cased in a beautiful display carton and includes a numbered military challenge coin. Prairie View Golf Club

Located on 206 acres in Hamilton County, Prairie View Golf Club is the only Robert Trent Jones, Jr. golf course in Indiana. Robert Trent Jones, Jr. blended 18 holes of traditional golf design into the natural beauty created by the rolling prairie, towering oaks and sycamores that characterize our site on the banks of the White River. A clear running stream that meanders through four holes, natural wetlands, and five serene lakes placed strategically throughout the course serve to complete a truly unique playing experience.

French Lick Scenic Railway - The Polar Express

Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, passengers will relive the magic of the classic story as they are whisked away on THE POLAR EXPRESS for a magical 80 minute trip through a rail yard, neighborhoods and through a tunnel on the way to The North Pole. Once on board, your conductor will work their way through the coach and punch your ticket before hot chocolate and a delicious cookie are served by dancing chefs. Passengers then read along with the classic children's book, The Polar Express, by Chris Van Allsburg.

Santa and his helpers board the train to greet passengers and each guest is given the first gift of Christmas - a silver sleigh bell. On the return trip from the North Pole, elves on each car lead passengers in caroling, and onboard entertainment - creating memories you will never forget! Each child will take home a keepsake sleigh bell in addition to the wonderful memories made on this magical trip.

Coach Class seating is in both 1920's era and 1960's era commuter coaches. These cars typically seat around 80 passengers on padded bench-type seating. Ages 2 and up require a ticket.

Tradition Course

The last golf course installed at Treetops Resort, Tradition is also the third and final Treetops course designed by Rick Smith, who took us back to the roots of golf. Enjoy the look and feel of Irish golf "traditions" (get it?) with relatively flat terrain, links-style design, fast and firm playing conditions with a bit of brown, and short, wooden pins.

Many regulars consider Tradition to be the easiest course at Treetops. Wide, well-groomed fairways, fast greens that are visible from the tee box, and a fun layout offer a pleasurable round. In other words, Tradition won't beat you up like some other courses (we're looking at you, Masterpiece). The hole design is varied and challenging, but you won't see the massive elevation changes encountered at our other courses.

Climb Time Indy is a rock climbing gym for all ages. Since 1997, Climb Time Indy is dedicated to providing the best that rock climbing has to offer. Climb Time offers a wide range of difficulty levels from very easy to moderate to extremely difficult, brought to you by some of the best route setters this side of the Mississippi. Routes are changed weekly in order to ensure there is always something new to challenge yourself with.

Timbergate Golf Course

Timbergate Golf Course is one of the four Indiana courses rated to be a "good value" by Golf Digest, and the only one south of Indianapolis. Timbergate is located in Edinburgh, IN just off of I-65 at exit 80. Designed by Clyde Johnston with Indiana native Fuzzy Zoeller, Timbergate is one of the premiere public courses in Indiana. The complete links style design was geared by Fuzzy to be both challenging to experienced players as well as playable by higher handicappers.

Each hole has five or more bent grass tee beds to vary the yardage of the course from 5000 to 7000 yards. Eleven ponds and several bunkers skirt the bent grass fairways and greens. Blue grass and fescue roughs surround every hole giving each its own identity.
