The ultimate Art Lover package includes 10 individual day passes to the Institute of Contemporary Arts / Boston, plus two pieces of artwork: An original framed collage by Karen Moss, titled: "Marvels of The Indies." The theme is based on journals of Christopher Columbus and his first encounter with the native people and the flora and fauna of the Caribbean islands. Karen learned of his impressions from reading translations of his diary and was moved to create work that incorporates copies of text from this source as well as maps, illustrations from early engravings, fabric, and paint.
Karen has a BFA in painting from Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA from Tufts University/Boston Museum School. She has exhibited her work in galleries and museums since the 1970s and has worked in numerous private and public collections. Public collections include The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, The De Cordova Museum, The National Museum of Women in the Arts, Rhode Island School of Design Museum, The Fitchburg Art Museum, Fidelity management, and Bank of Boston. She is currently represented by Gallery Kayafas in Boston.
Original print from 2018 by Alex Nkuna, a student at Artist Proof Studio in Johannesburg. The title is "Swallowed By the Ground," and depicts an abandoned car in rural South Africa. The sight is not unusual.
