Chris Jones (father, participant) & Madison Jones (daughter, past participant)

My daughter expressed her experience which was also aligned with mine: "The Cancer Support Community gave me a safe place to share my experience with a group who would understand. They provided me with tools to manage the stress and the uncertainty and I also believe they led me to acceptance. I am part of a great group of people. We laugh, we cry, and we are there for one another, which is so valuable since cancer can be a lonely experience."

Unfortunately Madison passed on in 2018. Before her mortal departure, she wrote:

"I have been surviving cancer since 2013, and I am sad to say that this journey will soon be over. One of my favorite quotes from Stuart Scott who also passed from cancer reads: 'When you die, it does not mean that you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and in the manner in which you live. I know I did exactly that. People may say I have lost my battle against cancer, but with the amount of love I have been loved, I can't possibly see how that's true".

Stand with CSCVVSB and help those impacted by cancer in our community gain the support and strength they need in the fight against cancer.
