Because of undeveloped immune systems, every kitten must be vaccinated and de-wormed, bringing the total cost of medications and vaccines for all of the kittens at PAWS Chicago to more than $25,000 per year.
All of the puppies that come into our program require their own vaccines and medical attention, such as antibiotics, de-worming, vaccinations and flea and tick treatments. This costs us approximately $25,000 - $30,000 a year.

In addition to PAWS' high-volume free and low-cost Spay/Neuter Clinic, PAWS also operates the GusMobile Spay/Neuter Van, which brings the services of the Lurie Clinic directly to under-resourced neighborhoods that need them, where distance and access to the Clinic is a challenge.

In many shelters, sick and injured animals are left behind because of the costs associated with treating them. PAWS Chicago focuses on taking taking the neediest animals and doing whatever it takes to save them.
A donation of $1,000 helps PAWS with efforts like funding treatment for one sick or injured dog or cat or provide specialized care by a veterinarian.
PAWS takes in nursing moms and their litters of kittens all the time. Sometimes fosters even help to bottle-feed litters of kittens that are, unfortunately, without a mom. Donations to our life-saving programs helps PAWS with efforts like vaccinations, prescription food, and more so that we can continue saving our young feline friends.
A donation of $250 helps PAWS with efforts like funding the veterinary behaviorist consultation for a dog who needs specialized training to help to prepare them for their adoptive family.
