In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, and in the interest of the health and well-being of all in the Lurie Children's family, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Winter Wishes cocktail party, traditionally held at the Casino Club. Instead, we will be hosting a drive-in movie experience from December 3-6. We hope you can join us! Visit the Winter Wishes website to register.
If you cannot make it to the drive-in, or wish to help the Founders' Board further the mission of the Magoon Institute, please donate to this year's Winter Wishes Wish List!
Proceeds from this year's event will support the Founders' Board's newest funding commitment: a $5 million gift to support the Patrick M. Magoon Institute for Healthy Communities. The funds raised align directly with the Magoon Institute's highest priorities: helping children thrive in the communities where they live, love, learn and play. To learn more about the incredible work of the Magoon Institute, visit their website.
Additionally, sponsors of Winter Wishes will be invited to partner with the Magoon Institute team in hosting a virtual career day for alumni of the Lurie Children's Workforce Education programs. These programs provide high school and college students with work-based experiences throughout the hospital and career guidance so that they can understand the requirements and rewards of being a healthcare professional. These mentorships from leaders in the Chicago corporate community will help out the City's teens and youth on paths to productive, fulfilling careers.
