An Evening of Opportunity is an annual celebration to highlight the growth and successes of Best Buddies' participants throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island. This year presented many unexpected challenges to us all, not least of which was an incredibly uncertain employment landscape. Join us as we recognize the perseverance of Best Buddies jobs participants and the commitment of our employer partners during this unprecedented year that we have all experienced. We hope that you will join supporters, partners, business leaders, and Best Buddies participants in supporting our mission to empower the special abilities of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. All of the funds raised through this event will help grow the lives of people with IDD in Massachusetts and Rhode Island by forming meaningful friendships with their peers, securing successful jobs, living independently, improving public speaking, self-advocacy and communication skills, and feeling fully included in society. Program starts at 6:45pm

Enjoy world-class wines delivered to your door and be led through the tastes and flavors by Cristiano himself, who will be joining us direct from Portugal.

Cristiano van Zeller is the 14th generation of a winemaking family continuously working in the Douro region of Portugal since 1620. He began at the family company, Quinta do Noval, where he later became CEO and President of the company just before the harvest of 1982 and maintained the responsibility until the family decided to sell the company in 1993. From there Cristiano had multiple new wine projects in the Douro including Quinta Vale D. Maria, which he bought with his wife in 1996 during a small 'revolution' in the Douro: the emergence of Douro still wines. In 2007 he got back Van Zellers & Co., the original family company that had been sold in 1993, and has been running it since. Cristiano is a founding member of the Confraria do Vinho do Porto (1982) and of the group Douro Boys, the most innovative and dynamic group of wine producers in Portugal.
