Ric is a 'native' of Palos Verdes, born and raised in Rolling Hills. He has a degree in Ornamental Horticulture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and is a California certified nurseryman. Ric worked at the Palos Verdes Begonia Farm for 20 years as a nurseryman and plant buyer. He taught the 'Successful Gardening Class' at the South Coast Botanic Garden for 10 years after the nursery closed.
Additionally, Ric has been doing landscape design and consulting for over 30 years. He is a member of the California Native Plant Society local chapter and is a past president. Ric is also a member of the local Rose Society and the Southern California and San Diego Horticultural Society.
