She is currently enrolled in a 4-year university and recently moved into her own apartment. Desirae and her advocate were introduced during COVID-19. Their opportunities to spend time together have been limited to the picnic table at her group home and a walk down the street to 7 Eleven. Desirae expressed an interest in going to Disneyland with her advocate, the Happiest Place on Earth. The goal will be to help Desirae create some positive childhood memories in her first trip to Disneyland and allow her to simply be a kid and have some fun.
Carmelo is a 19 year old young man and father. He went from being on the run to becoming a father and obtaining his first job. He has really matured and becoming a father has helped him grow. He wants to be his son's hero. He really needs a laptop and printer to be able to complete his G.E.D.

Hayley, age 12, was removed from the care of her step-father due to sexual abuse. She is struggling with the passing of her mother, but is glad to be living with her maternal grandmother. Hayley would like to have a career in cosmetology. She has started a small business in her neighborhood where she does manicures and pedicures. She would love to have more supplies to continue her business.
Briana, age 9, has always dreamed of learning to ride a bike. Before she came to the U.S. from Guatemala, she enjoyed seeing other kids in her neighborhood ride their bikes. A bike would be a positive outlet for healthy exercise and a good way for her to forget all her sad thoughts about her sexual abuse.
Yeimy, age 18, was able to achieve her goal of graduating from high school and attending a community college. Despite being in foster care and suffering sexual abuse from her step-father, she was able to achieve her dream. She really needs a printer to be able to complete her school work.
Joy, age 9, and her family have been in and out of the foster system in two different states. When she was living in a motel, she missed a lot of school so is now far behind her 3rd grade level. Joy can benefit from having a tutor.

Brenda, age 16, has been in foster care for five years due to physical abuse and neglect by her mother. She has struggled and acted out, but really is a sweet young woman who has a beautiful singing voice. Singing is a positive activity for her and given her talent, singing lessons would be not only appreciated but a positive motivator for her.

Indykah is a 10 year-old outgoing and creative soul. She was adopted as a baby, but it now in foster care. She has a few photo albums from her biological mother that she pours over frequently and shares with those close to her. It would be wonderful for her to have a portable pocket printer with film so that she can continue to share these beautiful memories.
Daniela , age 17, lost both of her parents to COVID-19 complications and has gone through many of transitions since then. Daniela loves animals and would love to take a trip to the zoo with her new CASA. This would give Daniela some much needed light heartedness and fun after going through so much trauma.
In the last year, 10 year-old Alex went from a stable home with a prospective adoption to a failed adoption, placement far away from his support system, and the loss of his mother. He has struggled so much from the resulting trauma, however, has gravitated towards music, specifically the guitar. He would love to have a guitar and lessons to develop a greater connection to music and have a positive and therapeutic outlet.
