Description of Buffalo: "Chromatic Buffalo" inversely, is a brightly colored, high-chroma depiction of the traditional buffalo. This piece shows her love for vibrancy, using the same dry-brush technique she achieved a wide spectrum of individual colors and textures. The buffalo is approximately 18" long and 12" inches high and made of terra cotta.
Artist Bio: Helene Kenyon (August 6, 1958 - September 21, 2020) was a native of Smithville Flats, NY who fought a courageous battle with AML Leukemia at Roswell Park. When asked by Roswell Park's Creative Arts Team to get involved with the Herd About Buffalo Project, she welcomed the task with enthusiasm and made two painted Buffalos during her treatment in August of 2020. Among her many pastimes, she loved painting ceramics and imbued her artwork with a love for wilderness. Her collection speaks to her creative, resilient spirit.
