Created by architect Perry Maxwell on the heels of his work at No. 27 Prairie Dunes and No. 34 Southern Hills, Old Town Club was surprisingly unique, and included perhaps Maxwell's only surviving double green. When Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw were hired to address the bunkering at Old Town, they opted not to reproduce the original bunkers (some of which were enormous) but rather emulate their gnarly shapes, edges and vegetation in places where bunkers naturally fit. Lots of trees had already been removed, but the architects convinced the club to get rid of even more. Now, a single swath of fairway connects the seventh, eighth, ninth, 17th and 18th holes. Very unique.

Seth Raynor's courses, like those of his mentor Charles Blair Macdonald, are notable for the recurring use of strategy and design found on holes from famous Scottish golf courses, including the well-known "Redan" holes. Hole 11 is a replica of the 15th hole at North Berwick and is so treacherous that Sam Snead carded a 13 and Ben Hogan once commented after a bogey on Hole 11, "Your greens are beautiful, but what you need for that eleventh hole is about five sticks of dynamite." Known for its challenging green complexes and sweeping low country vistas, the Country Club of Charleston is celebrated as one of the premier golf clubs in the Southeast. Raynor, designed and built the course from 1923 to 1925.

The Reserve Club is a par-72 golf course crafted for those who enjoy a high-risk-reward style of play. Nestled within an abundance of vegetation and surrounding wooded wetlands, this diverse course keeps the game interesting and competitive with its multi-level bent grass greens and split fairways.

Though it contained a classic collection of Raynor favorites, including a Road Hole, a Biarritz, a Redan and even a Prize Dogleg (based on an entry from a 1914 magazine design contest), Yeamans Hall suffered from benign neglect for 50 years, with bunkers overgrown and greens both shrunk by mowing habits and mushroomed by topdressing. But in the later 1980s, the course superintendent discovered Raynor's original plans in the clubhouse attic. Architect Tom Doak and his then-associate Jim Urbina used the plans to faithfully restore Raynor features. Urbina continues to implement restoration touches. Located in Hanahan, South Carolina.
