About the Artist:

At the time of her death in 1997 Ida Kohlmeyer was Louisiana's most renowned artist. Her paintings and sculpture, characterized by exuberance and painterly freedom, are personal interpretations of a wide world of joyous color, motion and vitality. She was able to express deep feeling directly on to her canvases. Ida Kohlmeyer developed a distinctive vocabulary of shapes and symbols which she first organized in grid format and later in loose flowing patterns. The artist translated that style into her acclaimed metal sculptures with their vertical arrangements of both geometric and organic shapes.

Stan Meyer creates flat-woven artworks out of roofing felt paper, utilizing inspiration for patterns from Celtic, Maori, and various other aboriginal cultures, combined with patterns found in nature or contemporary architecture. His large-scale wall works are unique and combine artistic aesthetic reminiscent of abstract expressionists with the handmade technique of fine craftspeople.

About the Artist:

Reg loving has lived and worked in New Mexico as a painter and printmaker for most of his adult life. He has a long history of showing non-objective paintings since the late seventies, showing at the legendary Hills Gallery and Janus Gallery in Santa Fe at that time.

Loving's more recent work is influenced by landscape. Much of it consists of abstracted landscapes, which explore the depth and dimension of mesas and canyons reduced to multiple layers. The Southwest has been described as an abstraction of landscape - spare, delineated and defined by the intense light, which is seen in his work.

Reg Loving's paintings are in many museums, corporations and personal collections, and many of his works have been purchased by New Mexico's "Art in Public Places."
