Meet this Year's Celebrity Judges
Jon Paulo, President & CEO
Joe Paulo has been President & Chief Executive Officer of Hope Media Group (a family of brands including KSBJ, NGEN Radio, Hope On Demand and Special Events) since 2018. With an extensive background in media and leadership, he began at KSBJ as Vice-President of Operations in 2017 after serving at Educational Media Foundation (K-LOVE/Air1) as the Director of Donor Stewardship and Communications. He led a division of Columbia International University as Director of Broadcasting until 2014, overseeing the growth of successful radio stations in Charlotte, NC and Columbia, SC. Joe has also provided volunteer leadership at the board of director level for other nonprofits such as Youth Commission International and Christian Music Broadcasters. He earned a Master's Degree in Business with honors from Liberty University in 2014. In addition to speaking on leadership, fundraising and media, Joe and his wife, Kelly, have hosted or spoken at numerous marriage and parenting events to share their passion for marriage, parenting and adoption. Joe and Kelly have been married for 30 years and have three daughters and two sons.
Sr. Jane Meyer, O.P., Head of School at St. Agnes Academy
A graduate of St. Agnes Academy, Sr. Jane returned to her alma mater as principal in 1981 and has served as Head of School since 1997. Sr. Jane has paved the way for the school's current science program. Today, its Academy women can fulfill all of their science credits on campus. She instituted the campus ministry program, created an annual retreat program, and instilled the Dominican ideal of service through the Academy's Servant Leadership program for all students. And of course, she brought the uniform policy, allowing our students to focus on education and not status. These are just a few highlights. Through her leadership, St. Agnes Academy has seen incredible growth through a thriving philanthropy program and a strong leadership team. Sr. Jane continues to inspire the mission and vision of the Academy while ensuring faith development and academic excellence for more than 900 Academy women each year.
Fr. James Murphy, CSB, President of St. Thomas High School
In 2019, St. Thomas High School selected Fr. James Murphy, CSB as the institution's third president in its proud 119-year history. Fr. Murphy has lived the Basilian vocation of education for a quarter-century and brings a distinguished academic and leadership career. In addition to the interim president during the 2018-19 academic year, he had previously contributed in a full array of diverse areas, including Board of Directors, as an esteemed faculty member, assistant dean of students, assistant athletic director, assistant drama director and in Campus Ministry - always committed to the cultivation of the deeper purposes of Catholic pedagogy.
Sr. Lauren Beck, C.V.I., President of Incarnate Word Academy
Sister Lauren Beck, C.V.I. was named Incarnate Word Academy's first President in 2000. Under Sr. Lauren's leadership, the Academy has expanded its campus to include a beautiful performing arts auditorium and a recent building addition with state-of-the-art classrooms to accommodate IWA's college-preparatory curriculum.
Carmen Armistead, Head of School at St. Pius X High School
As a member of the Dominican Family of Houston, Carmen Garrett Armistead is the first Head of St. Pius who is not a Catholic Sister, and the second person to hold the title of Head in the school's history. Armistead joined St. Pius in 2016 after holding multiple administrative roles over a span of 11 years at The American School in England including Head of Upper School, Director of Development and Alumni Affairs and Counselor.
