Artist Statement: My artistic expressions are in watercolor, pencil and colored pencil. I enjoy the challenge of the materials and have a passion for paper in all forms.
My work can be realistic or an altered view from the location or object. Each completed piece is either an added combination or reduced version of the reference images. Rather than create a romantic or over sentimental version, my work reflects the human and environmental interaction on the landscape and found objects.
While my watercolors are an artistic interpretation, my colored pencil paintings can fool the eye with their realism.
A search for technical excellence is a part of my artistic journey. I keep searching within myself for the next best painting.
