While my God-given name is Shelby, many of you know and call me by my camp name: Bells.
As a kid, I anticipated camp like Christmas morning. Each year I'd get the same feeling as we drove through the woods, down the hill, past the athletic field and horse pasture, and towards the dining hall to registration: a sense of security. Camp seemed to be the one place that I felt as if I belonged. Always. Without judgement. No questions asked. Today is no different. I know that I am welcomed with open arms.
My sophomore year of college, after being reconnected to camp through friends, I felt a deep call from the Lord to apply for summer staff. For three summers I watched camp become not only a place for growth, connection, and expressiveness within myself, but in hundreds and thousands of campers. To put it simply, Lakeview is a glimpse of what is awaiting us in heaven. This ministry is changing lives - campers, volunteers, and staff alike - through the love of Jesus, creation, and silly antics.
In light of COVID, camp is need of support. Any donation you are able to give is greatly appreciated and will continue to bless and sustain camp now, and in the years to come. For every person that donates to my page, a personalized friendship bracelet will be sent your way!
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. (Hebrews 10:23)
