In celebration of his 16-year tenure leading the organization, the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center presented Preston Whiteway with the Monte Cristo Award during its 20th annual celebration on October 4, 2020. 


He credits his time at the O'Neill as launching him and his career, as it continues to launch and support so many artists. The newly-created Preston Whiteway Scholarship ensures that other young theater artists will have access to a transformative experience by attending the O'Neill's National Theater Institute.
