About the Artist:

Julie Torres, born in Boise, Idaho, and raised in Tallahassee, Florida, is an Atlanta-based artist specialized in the medium of printmaking. Torres graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida in 2002 and 2005 respectively, a Master of Law from the University of Miami in 2008, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking from the Savannah College of Art and Design ("SCAD") in 2016. She was recently named a 2020 Finalist for the Sustainable Arts Foundation Award out of 1,800 applicants.

Torres practiced law for seven years prior to attending SCAD. That experience is reflected in the subject matter of her work. Her artwork explores the balance between various systems: natural and artificial; societal and legal. She incorporates text from legal documents into her art counterbalanced by an aesthetic of delicacy to create an interplay between content and form.

Torres has exhibited nationally and internationally. Her work is in private and public collections including those of Delta Airlines, Spanx, Ritz Carlton, J.W. Marriott, Norwegian Cruise Lines and the Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation. She most recently exhibited her work with Jennifer Balcos Gallery at Pulse Art Fair (December 2019) and with September Gray Fine Art at Art Palm Beach (February 2020).

Donald Robson is a visual artist living and working in Atlanta for the past twenty years. Born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Don received his Bachelor's of Fine Arts Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1986. Don has also studied at the Scuola Lorenzo DeMedici in Florence Italy in 1985. He received his Masters of Fine Arts Degree from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.

In the early Nineties Don relocated to Atlanta and has been exhibiting his paintings, drawings and mixed media constructions at various venues locally, across the United States as well as internationally. Don's work is represented in collections in Pennsylvania, Georgia, California, Florida and Rhode Island. Don also has designed and created furniture, sculpture and unique display systems for locations throughout the country and places as far away as Aruba and the United Arab Emirates.

About the Artist:

Branch art is not unique. Many people use branches as rustic or natural touches in their environments. What is unique is Tom Chambers' ability to join branches in a manner that looks completely natural. A combination of wood and acrylic, the pieces give the illusion of naturally flowing branches. First, the bark is stripped and the branches are sanded. Then Tom arranges the branches in an artistic pattern. The joints are created using a combination of glue, wood filler and epoxy. A base coat, acrylic paint and a sealer coat are then applied, all by brush. Each distinctive piece of art is one-of-a-kind.

Tom's interest in art began in high school where his first art classes were taught by the man who was his football and track team coach. What started as an easy elective developed into life-long creativity. His passion was ignited while attending the University of Tampa on a football scholarship. There, he studied Sculpture, Drawing and Painting. His art was put on hold after he married, began a family and entered the business world.

In 2007, after 34 years in retail, Tom took an early retirement to pursue his love of art full-time. He and his wife Brenda moved from Florida to the mountains of north Georgia. The landscape and terrain provided the ideal setting to expand upon the original branch art idea, conceived at Brenda's request from a inspirational photo and his imagination, 15 years prior.

Tom is a member of the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association in Blue Ridge, GA, has served on their Board of Directors in the past and began another term in January 2019. He is also a Signature Member of the Southern Appalachian Artists Guild, an organization under the umbrella of BRMAA. In January 2012, he was one of five member artists to participate in the Regional Art Exhibition at The Bascom: A Center for the Visual Arts in Highlands, NC where his piece "Midnight Blooms" was sold. Also in 2012, he became a member of the High Country Artisans, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the local arts, located in Blairsville, GA.

In 2018, Orlando's Fall Fiesta in the Park honored Tom with an inaugural Award of Excellence. He took Third Place in 3D in the 2017 Southern Appalachian Artists Guild National Juried Show in Blue Ridge, GA where the year before he received an Award of Merit for two of the three pieces that were juried into the show. Tom has artwork in many public locations, including two commissioned pieces in the Union County Community Center, which also houses the Chamber of Commerce, located in his chosen home town of Blairsville, GA. There is a nine-piece collection in the Orlando Public Library's permanent gallery, one piece residing in the Citizen's Art Gallery at the Tifton City Hall and one piece in the capitol office of Georgia Speaker of the House, David Ralston. In February 2010, he was asked to create a centerpiece sculpture, with the theme of "Lady in Red", for the Southeastern Horticulture Show in Atlanta, GA. The incredible result was a 5' tall red ball gown made entirely of tree branches.

About the Artist:

Born in Morocco in 1967, Aziz Kadmiri was captivated by the dramatic landscapes which surrounded him. His extraordinary works of art reflect this fascination. At the age of nineteen, Aziz moved to Switzerland and attended École Hôtelière de Lausanne. After graduation he moved to Paris, France, where received his master's degree at the Université Paris-Dauphine and began a career in hotel management. While in Paris, the more contemporary style of art moved Aziz's spirit and his love of painting grew, eventually leading him to paint full-time. Aziz's inspiration for his work comes primarily from his travels through Morocco and Europe. With a dramatic flair and a bold use of color, his imaginative visions encompass everything from familiar city skylines to surreal landscapes with spectacular imagery reflected on tranquil water. Each of Aziz's paintings produces a different emotion in the viewer, allowing him or her to transcend the present moment and venture into a place within the mind of a passionate artist. In 2012, Aziz decided to move to the United States to exhibit his work for a new audience. His work is shown and collected both in Europe and the United States.

About the Artist:

Lauren is an Australian living in Atlanta with her husband. Her artistic focus in Australia was working on set designs and managing theatrical productions. One set design involved painting a large canvas over 15 feet long and 12 feet high. From this experience Lauren began to explore fluid art. She likes to call it Flow Motion Art. As her work has a feeling of movement and dynamics.

Lauren began to paint and explore the different techniques involved in creating her Flow Motion Art. The more she painted the more she discovered her love for color. The way color 'plays' together is part of the technique of flow motion paintings. We all know that red and blue makes purple. But what does purple, orange do together on a canvas?

The use of pouring medium allows the paints to flow across the canvas as Lauren manipulates the paint using a variety of tools from breath, gravity, high pressured air, paper towels and cups to name a few tools. Each piece is unique.

Noosh! Studios began when Chris Neuenschwander fell in love with printmaking during his time as a student at Kennesaw State University. With a goal to make people smile with his art, Chris focuses on designs that are full of happiness and joy. Bright colors, humorous characters, and whimsical imagery are hallmarks of Chris's work.

While printmaking traditionally uses paper as a vehicle for the designs, Chris occasionally takes a different approach. By printing on t-shirts, Chris has pulled the art from the walls and has made it so that art can now be wearable for everyone to enjoy! If Chris can fit it through his press, he will print on it!

Rolling ink onto a block and squishing it onto paper or fabric isn't his only mode of artistic transportation! Chris also uses his printmaking skills to create unique hand-carved and hand-painted pieces as well as his more traditional hand-pulled paper prints.

Chris's studio is full of the tools of his trade: a Takach etching press, carving tools, brayers, various types and sizes of wood, lots of colorful paints, and an array of soft t-shirts.

Aaron Adams is an abstract painter and mixed-media artist born and raised in rural Michigan before relocating to Atlanta, Ga in 1994. His artwork is known to incorporate both traditional and more experimental artistic techniques. He creates deeply moving and emotive works by suspending powdered pigments, colorful alcohol inks, acrylic paints and textures in epoxy resin.

The artist has always had an appreciation for the arts and photography but it wasn't until he was recovering from meningitis over a decade ago that he discovered his interest and passion in creating abstract art.

Aaron's work explores how the emotional impact of color can be juxtaposed with texture to engage the viewer and make them an active participant in determining the image's meaning.

Although he chooses the color pallet, materials, and overall feeling he wants to convey in each work, he has learned to appreciate what the final product will evolve into. Images evoke impressions of many different places and things for the viewer ranging from earthly landscapes, to microscopic cellular anatomy and even magnificent galaxies or swirling cosmic storms.

Before becoming an artist, I was in the military for nearly 18 years, in law enforcement for 9 years, and was a middle school history teacher for 7 years. I retired early because of my permanent disabled veteran status.

I was the proverbial world traveler, having been on five continents and more countries than I can remember. I have been painting for four years this August. If I could have another artist's talent, it would probably be Dali. The artists that have a major impact on me; Picasso, Richter, Pollock, Shiraga, West, Shinoda and Kandinsky. My contemporary influences are too numerous to name. I normally don't talk about my past life before art because it tends to reinforce the Neanderthal image most people naturally see in me when they meet me. However, it is what it is.
