2 cups flour
`1/4 cup corn starch
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1.5 cup cold ice water
4 eggs (beaten)
Vegetable or peanut oil (for frying)
1 pound ground beef
Optional toppings: cheese, lettuce, tomato, bacon, pineapple, teriyaki sauce, etc.
Make the batter - Mix flour, corn starch, baking soda, salt, 2 eggs, and ice water in a large bowl. Whisk until combined.
Prepare the burgers - Combine ground beef, seasonings, 2 eggs, and cheese cubs in a large bowl. Arrange mixture into patties.
Cover burger patties in tempura batter, making sure they are evenly coated on all sides.
Heat cooking oil to 375 degrees.
Carefully place the burgers into the oil and let cook for approximately 8 minutes.
Remove burgers from the oil, place on buns, and top with desired toppings. Enjoy!
