In the movie Mad Max: Fury Road, the plot involves women escaping a tyrannical ruler that used them as sex slaves. Artist Frank Strunk III created "Maxwell" to represent the sex trafficking victims hoping for a hero to save them.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: I'm a self-taught American artist living in Florida. Originally, I hail from the Washington D.C. metropolitan area from the beautiful city of Rockville, Maryland. I grew up around my father's commercial printing plant. I have always been intriged by the innerworkings of machines and mechanical things.

In my art, I try to address the things that I feel matter most and cut throught the clutter that comes to us in floods of misinformation from media, religion, politics, and our culture. My hope is to commucate something to you that will make your life more joyous.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Donald Gialanella, originally from Maplewood, NJ, now works out of his studio in St. Petersburg, Florida. After earning a BFA from The Cooper Union, Donald apprenticed with Louise Bourgeois, an influential figure in modern and contemporary art. He worked as a graphics producer at ABC-TV in New York in the 1980's and received an Emmy for his work on Monday Night Football in 1990. With an international teaching appointment at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey and a host of public sculpture commissions to his credit, Gialanella's art career has been diverse and prolific.

Since 2007 my primary focus has been public art.

In 2019, I was commissioned by the City of Pompano Beach, FL., to create a sculpture that will be displayed at the beach for one year. After a year, it will be submerged in the ocean and attached to the deck of a sunken ship, the Lady Luck, in Shipwreck Park.

In 2019, I was selected to design two sculptures to address streetscape aesthetics with iconic and potentially interactive public art that serves to engage vehicular drivers and sidewalk pedestrians at Winton Drive and experimentally enhance the outdoor entrance to the Legends Community Center for approaching visitors in Jacksonville, FL.

Also in 2019, I was chosen to create two sculptures illustrating the Monarch butterfly migration in Riverside, MO.

In early 2019, I was named as one of three finalists to create an assemblage snowboarder memorial sculpture for the Town of Breckenridge, CO.

In 2018, I was awarded the commission to create a monumental interactive sculpture entitled, Synesthesia, for the Town Square project in Boynton Beach, FL. See video presentation here.

In 2016, I was commissioned by the Dali Museum in ST. Petersburg to create a large steel Mustache sculpture for the permanent collection.

My pieces have won the "People's Choice Award" in all three of the sculpture loan programs I have been involved in over the past two years, in Napa, CA, Northglenn, CO, and Lakeland, FL.

in 2015 a life size Bison sculpture was purchased by the City of Northglenn, CO and permanently installed in their sculpture garden. Also in 2015, I created a 12 foot tall Running Hare sculpture installed on historic route 66 in the City of Kingman, AZ.

I was awarded a 2014 commission from the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital in Palo Alto, CA, to create a landmark assemblage sculpture of a life-size Cow made out of repurposed toys for the lobby. I was named a finalist for the 2015 Remnants Restored project in Blue Springs, MO, to create a steel sculpture using recycled steel from the old water tower.

In 2013, I won two public sculpture commissions from the Cities of Napa and Pasadena. Also in 2013, I received a commission from Arrow Electronics, an international electronics firm based in Denver, CO, to create a large Orb assemblage sculpture. In 2011, I was a finalist for the Heisler Park Sculpture Project in Laguna Beach, CA and was shortlisted as one of three finalists for the McBean Transit Center Project in Santa Clarita, CA, in 2010.

In 2009, I was shortlisted for the $500,000.00 St. George Cathedral sculpture project in Perth, Australia. In 2007, I was chosen to create three monumental public sculptures for the City of Albany, NY, that were installed near the New York State capitol building.

Because the human trafficking industry exists as a worldwide issue driven by money and greed, Benjamin, by Robert Vincent, perfectly captures this with the $100 bills collage on the body and multiple global currencies covering the base. The LV on the side represents a pair of themes: Super Bowl LV (55) and the fact that major sporting and other events are often "magnets" for sex trafficking, and the fashion industry, which has long been criticized of enabling forced labor, particularly in underdeveloped countries,

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Hi! I'm Courtney, a senior at the University of Tampa working towards my Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in painting. You can find me in my studio experimenting with mediums such as beer, spray paint, liquid copper, pennies, and other found materials. Experimental painting is a big influence on my current body of work. The curriculum constantly pushes me to think outside of the box, and explore an array of different materials. Lately, my current work revolves around oil painting the human figure and combining the bodies with designer brands and logos. This combination alludes to my senior thesis which explores social class and the concept of privilege versus poverty. This year I have become an apprentice to a local mural artist and have been learning the craft of large scale murals and the in and outs of being a full time artist. Art is something that I am constantly studying, practicing and is a huge part of my life. I think it is important to stick with your passion and when it is combined with hard work, extraordinary things can happen.

Pashu Sakhis means "Friend of the Animals" in Hindu. Project GOAT was inspired after we read an article on how goats in India are empowering women by providing them with careers both as goat farmers and caregivers, thereby helping them avoid a life of sex trafficking and forced servitude. Artist Liza Thompson captured the Project's inspiration through her wonderful work, which includes images with strong Indian and Hindu meaning.

ABOUT THE ARTIST; Artist Liza Thompson (Orlando/London) was in a near fatal car accident, where she broke 16 bones in her body. She was unable to use her hands normally, so she had to figure out a way to create her art through a new technique. As a result, pointillism was the answer.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Alle graduated from Capital University with a BA in Psychology, And minors in Art Therapy and Studio Art (2016). Not studying what she really wanted, because like a good midwestern girl, caved to the pressure to go with a major that was "applicable". Though she did spend every last elective credit in the art department.

She spent a few years picking up random jobs, to pay the bills. You know the drill. Learned a lot. Not so inspiring. Whenever a painting gig appeared, Alle followed. But there was a feeling that deep down, Alle needed to figure out how to make art a more central part of life.

in 2017, she found a job posting for Louis Vuitton? as an artist. As a complete long shot, she edited her resume from psychology internships to examples of her client artwork, and applied. A month later they emailed her to come audition for the role, in Miami, and she sort of landed the job.. Meaning she came in second place, out of a lot of people, and LV told her -how bout we put you in sales until another artist job pops up? Which reeeallly meant: lots of time selling, little time painting, which worked for about a year and a half, until a change was more than needed.

Over the course of these years, Alle began to connect the dots. She took all her inspiration to the canvas. She took all her heartbreak to the canvas. And when she found herself trying to pursue anything other than art, professionally, her mind would drift back to the studio and all of the work that she wanted to someday, create.

And so, in 2019, Alle began to follow the inner voice to pursue her love for art, full time.

Created by renowned Architect Yann Weymouth, this goat incorporates images from Weymouth's designs from his projects including the Louvre in Paris, France and the Dali and James Museums in St. Petersburg, Florida.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Internationally-known architect Yann Weymouth has designed some of the most famous buildings and museums in the world. Early in his career, he was I.M. Pei's chief of design for the Louvre pyramid project in Paris, where he was honored by French President Francois Mitterand for his work and the National Gallery of Art east wing in Washington, D.C.

He was lead architect for Florida International University's Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum in Miami and an expansion of the Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota. He also designed the Salvador Dali Museum and James Museum in St. Petersburg.

He was honored by the American Institute of Architects with the establishment of a new annual scholarship program in his name.

University of Tampa graduate and Trinbagonian Nneka Jones created Bullseye to show that 25 percent of human trafficking victims are children under the age of 18.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Growing up in the Caribbean, Trinidad and Tobago to be exact, was one of the main factors that has molded Nneka Jones into the artist she is today. Her astounding love for color and special attention to detail, as influenced by her culture, have always been prominent throughout her artistic journey.

The twenty-three-year old artist has graduated with a BFA and minor in Marketing from the University of Tampa in May 2020. Her most recent achievement was a commission from TIME magazine to produce the cover artwork for the August 31st/ September 7th issue 2020. The artist is now speaking at events like Adobe MAX, inspiring others by sharing how she turned her doubts, into dreams, and made those dreams into reality. She uses her artwork as a to speak out against social injustices that are overlooked in everyday life.

She quotes, "There is the artwork. The story behind the artwork and the story that the artwork tells." She believes that her artistic journey has only just begun and she is eager to explore her creative purpose in life, to reach her ultimate goal of being an internationally renowned artist.

Bekky Beukes' @bekkybeukes incredible goat combines acrylics and oil paints to depict Native American symbolism and represents the tragedy of missing and murdered indigenous women and children throughout North America.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: BEKKY BEUKES, known for her emotionally charged work, was born and raised in South Africa and moved to the United States in 2014. This personal revolution allowed BEUKES the unexpected opportunity to explore her intrinsic love for painting. Intrigued by the notion of combining opposite matter, she creates unnatural, ethereal juxtapositions of form. Fascinated by the chaos the human condition inspires, BEUKES explores the relationship between light and dark through her work and submits to her creative process with intention to challenge and transcend pre-conditioned thinking.

Since 2014, BEUKES has participated in over 40 shows, won 3 awards and has been a published artist since 2015. ABOUT THE ARTIST: Taylor O. Thomas is an American painter who uses gestural painting as a means of making manifest human tendencies, ways of seeing, and the interconnection between the body and the mind. Her paintings have been exhibited in galleries and private collections across the United States and in Italy, Spain, Singapore, and China. In 2012, Thomas graduated magna cum laude from Davidson College with a BA in Studio Art. She was then awarded a Graduate Fellowship by the University of South Florida and earned her MFA in 2019.

Thomas is the recipient of an inaugural Innovate Artist Grant, a Peripheral Vision Publication Fellowship, a two-time role as Publication Juror for Friend of the Artist, a Regional Artist Project Grant by the Arts and Science Council of Charlotte, NC, and residency scholarships to attend Vermont Studio Center (Johnson, Vermont) and Benaco Arte (Sirmione, Italy). The "Eyes of Nina" gives us a glimpse into the relationship between racism and human trafficking as well as celebrating and harnessing the fierce spirit and brilliant work of civil rights activist, singer, songwriter, Nina Simone. According to the UCLA Law Review article, "The Racial Roots of Human Trafficking, " by Cheryl Nelson Butler, "Race intersects with other forms of subordination including gender, class, and age to push people of color disproportionately into prostitution and keeps them trapped in the commercial sex industry?. Moreover, today's anti-trafficking movement has failed to understand and address the racial contours of domestic sex trafficking in the United States and even perpetuates the racial myths that undermine the proper identification of the minority youth as sex trafficking victims."

Nina Simone (1933-2003) was one of the voices of the civil rights movement. I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to Be Free served as one of the anthems during this tumultuous, powerful time. She used her remarkable talent to create a legacy of liberation, empowerment, passion, and love through a magnificent body of works. Mississippi Goddam, Four Women, Young Gifted and Black, and Backlash Blues, are a few of her songs that also rang out and loop around the powerful portraits on "The Eyes of Nina". May the spirit of Nina Simone give power to Project GOAT and help end human trafficking.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Bask is the moniker of one, Ales "Bask" Hostomsky, who along with his parents emigrated from Czechoslovakia to Florida and began to soak up America's popular iconic imagery along with the sun. The artist's richly textural work imbue his "anti-iconic," sometimes satirical worldview with an undercurrent of dark emotion. Combining his graphic skill with his trademark multi-layered applications, Bask builds up the surface only to break down the image.

Bask has developed a recognizable visual style of controlled messiness - intentional drips and splatters often blending with pop culture imagery that all add to the visual strength of his murals and paintings. ABOUT THE ARTIST: Kalup Linzy is a multi-disciplinary artist, who graduated from the University of South Florida with BA in 2000 and an MFA in 2003. He is the recipient of numerous awards including the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship. His work is in the public collections at The Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), the Museum of Modern Art (New York), the Whitney Museum of Art (New York), and the Studio Museum of Harlem just to name a few.. He has collaborated with many well known artists, celebrities, and fashion designers. Among them are James Franco, Chloe Sevigny, Natasha Lyonne, Liya Kebede, Proenza Schouler, and Michael Stipe of R.E.M. He is currently a George Kaiser Family Foundation Arts Integration Grantee. ABOUT THE ARTIST: Jay's recent paintings involve a continued exploration of incidental gestures and lowbrow symbolism culled from the urban streetscape. The source material is gathered from scavenging the streets (Ybor City, FL is a staple) for hedonistic remnants: club wristbands, flyers distressed from exposure to the elements, and discarded detritus are favorites. During these pedestrian excursions, he photographs specific situations to be used later as the possible catalyst for paintings.

He mostly avoids loaded subject matter (dolphins, smiley faces, words), opting for imagery that lends itself to subjective interpretation (generic patterns, graphic gestures, abstracted figures). Balancing elements of popular culture with high formalism has been a reoccurring theme throughout his decade-long practice, however, during the last two years he has relied less on representation and more on non-objective forms.
In the studio, he processes his inspiration through thumbnail sketches and digital drawings that are printed for reference. This reference is a starting point, from which the process often dictates the direction a painting may go or abruptly end. There is a level of risk in this layered process that he finds exciting and sometimes defeating.

He sees painting as a non-threatening response to his conscious and subconscious need to communicate. He describes it as 'a way to celebrate the beauty in the inherent failures of civilized society'.

We are a husband / wife team based in Tampa, Florida under the moniker Illsol.

Clean-lined work, often symmetrical, and bold, combined with distressed, layered, and muted textures is what makes the work of Illsol unique. The combined style of Illsol portrays elements of contemporary street textures from a background in stencil artwork to tattoo-style fine-lined illustrations that are intermixed between solid swaths of color.

Mergeculture Gallery: In 2017 Illsol started a contemporary art gallery in Tampa Heights to give local and international artists a fresh artist-curated place to show work.
