This is a stunning reproduction of one of John James Audubon's (1785-1851) watercolors. He was an ornithologist, naturalist, and painter, best known for Birds of America, a large color-plate book that offers an exhaustive look at its titular subject with his painstakingly detailed watercolors. Purchased at the Pequot Library Art Show from Joel Oppenheimer of Chicago's pop-up exhibition in the Perkin Gallery, this reproduction would be a fine addition to any nature lover's home.
