Kinda Karaoke

We're sad that we can't all be in the same zip code for the NYLA Conference this year, and we are especially sad that we won't see (hear?) you at our Karaoke fundraiser.

But have no fear! Karaoke is still kinda happening and you can still support New Yorkers for Better Libraries! 

Karaoke is kinda happening in the sense that there will be one brave soul regaling us with his singing prowess this year, and he'll be on a live stream at 5 pm on Friday, November 6. He may or may not be in costume, but he will definitely be singing at least one song. And the best thing is that you all get to vote on what song or songs he'll be singing and support the PAC at the same time!

NYLA's fearless Executive Director Jeremy Johannesen, always confident in his ability to pull off the #bestconferenceever, has agreed to this nonsense because he knows how important NY4BL is going to be as we head into a challenging 2021 budget year. He's chosen 6 songs, and you can vote as many times as you like ($20 donation per vote). 

Everyone who votes/donates will be sent a Zoom invitation link by email the morning of the November 6 live stream event.

In these unique and unprecedented times New York's libraries need your support now more than ever. The upcoming budget cycle promises to be one of the most challenging that we, as a library community, have ever faced. In order to be sure that our voices are heard we are asking you to consider making a donation to the New Yorkers For Better Libraries PAC to ensure that libraries have "a seat at the table" during upcoming State budget negotiations.
