Guided architectural tour of Bernard Maybeck's home and hosted dinner for 6
Your party of six will experience first-hand the design magic and mastery of Arts and Crafts architect Bernard Maybeck. As you begin your visit to his Berkeley Hills home, sip your favorite libation (your hosts aim to please) on the cottage roof overlooking the San Francisco Bay.
At the golden hour, meander in the Botanical Garden featuring 10,000 plants and 2,000 cultivars, Gladding McBean Statuary, fish ponds, unusual follies, 6 'retreats', kitchen gardens, and a treehouse.
Next, you'll savor dinner (sourced from local gourmet ghetto purveyors) prepared by hosts Kathy Brown and Jim Bonde and served in the storied nook, where Maybeck received his colleagues and friends; or outdoors on the view patio, following social distancing protocols and weather at the time of the event.
History of the site and gardens will delight history and horticulture buffs alike.
