Upon hearing her restaurant, Besharam, was recently named 2019 Eater SF's Restaurant of the Year, "You have no idea how much that recognition means to me, because I don't have any culinary training, it means so much to me to be recognized as a real chef. My heart was so warm. I was crying and smiling at the same time."
In her sassy new space in the Minnesota Street Project in San Francisco, Chef Heena Patel is a La Cocina (a culinary incubator in San Francisco) graduate. She recently dissolved her partnership with Daniel Patterson and totally revamped the menu at Besharam as she took over the helm of the restaurant.
Roughly translated to mean "shameless," Besharam features Heena's bold interpretations of the flavors and dishes that were prevalent throughout her childhood in India, refined and reimagined for California.
Heena promises you will be thrilled with the food experience she is preparing for you in her We Dine Together Home Edition cooking class, but expect to learn new names for traditional Indian food, prepare new dishes you never thought possible and enjoy a new culinary adventure altogether!
