Jon was born in California and raised in North Carolina. From the metropolitan areas of the state he moved to the gorgeous Smoky Mountains of Western Carolina where his love of landscapes began. Here he studied International Business, Chinese and Music. He was a lead singer and rhythm guitarist in a funk band for a number of years before finding the incredible sport of Bouldering shortly before graduating. His passion for developing untapped boulder fields brought him back to California in 2009, specifically the Lake Tahoe region. After spending some time in the area filming his exploits on the boulders Jon began shooting stills of the beauty surrounding him. A few years later he decided to share his collection of Tahoe images and pursue capturing more and more. He is very pleased to be represented by The Eadington Galleries of Lake Tahoe.

"I am always trying to push the natural limits of my medium, whether it be film or digital. I am traditional in my method working to get the image correct in the camera without building one in the computer. This makes every finished image a personal success and through this traditional function each image has a life and soul to its own, one that I am excited to introduce and show with my viewers and collectors.

I use my camera as a painter would use their brush, focusing more on the mood and power of a pre-visualized scene before the camera even comes out of the bag. Through a process of continued visits to my selected locations I am able to study the light and weather patterns through the changing seasons and truly connect with my surroundings.
