Fabulous 4 Whiskey Collection!

During prohibition one could get a doctor's prescription for whiskey! With the LAM Foundation being in Cincinnati, just across the river from Kentucky (Bourbon Capital of the world) and its 70+ distillers, a whiskey basket seemed like a natural. But this basket comes with a twist. Each bottle is from a different Midwestern state; Wisconsin, Michigan Illinois and Iowa.

J. Henry & Sons Bourbon Whiskey

Dane County, Wisconsin

All of our bourbons are made using Heirloom Red Corn, Heirloom Wheat, and Heirloom Rye, all grown on our farm in South Central Wisconsin, which has been in our family since 1946.

While most bourbons utilize the sweetness of wheat or the spiciness or rye as their 'flavor grain,' we decided to use both to create a complex, yet balanced, easy drinking whiskey that both sweet wheat and spicy rye bourbon lovers can reward themselves with together.

Our barrels and maturation conditions also play an important role in our final product. We take a few extra steps in barrel production. First, we season every oak stave a minimum of two years, which allows the wood sugars and flavors to slowly enhance and mature-similar to dry aging a steak. Then we lightly toast every barrel to caramelize the wood sugars and further enhance the flavors-similar to toasting a marshmallow on a campfire. Finally, we use a level 3 char on our barrels to ensure our bourbon can properly penetrate into the seasoned, toasted, and charred oak and extract maximum flavor.

The Quint family has farmed and distilled spirits for generations. Cedar Ridge was the first licensed distillery in Iowa since Prohibition.

After releasing its first batch of whiskey in 2010, Cedar Ridge Distillery quickly became a nationally recognized leader in craft spirits, winning awards such as American Distilling Institute's "2017 Distiller of the Year" or "Best American Craft Whiskey" at the 2016 New York World Spirits Competition.

We store and mill corn and grain on-site from that is grown on our own family farm in Winthrop, Iowa. Twice distilling our whiskeys to a higher proof, and removing the impurities results in a cleaner, more approachable sipping whiskey. Allowing nature to be our ultimate guide in aging, we transfer the whiskey to barrels, and store them in non-temperature controlled rick house's.

His passion for contemporary music has led him to make dozens of premieres of new works, including many chamber music and solo performances with ballet companies such as BalletX. Branson is a protégé of cellist Wendy Warner and was recently named Principal Cello of both Opera Philadelphia and the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia.

Can anyone participate in the Online Silent Auction?

Due to shipping considerations, the auction is available for those in the US only, and bidders must be at least 18 years of age. Although we wish this were not the case for our international friends, we encourage those outside the US to support LAM research through a thoughtful contribution.

Can I help share the auction with friends and family?

Yes, please do! We encourage you to share the link with 25 of your friends and family in honor of The LAM Foundation's 25th Anniversary. You can even share individual items though a link within each item listing.

How does the silent auction work?

We are using mobile bidding through Sunday, August 2 at 3 p.m. ET. You will be able to use your smartphone, tablet, or computer to keep up with the status of your bids and continue bidding until the auction closes. You can be the winning bidder wherever you are within the United States!

How do I participate in the online bidding auction?

Get started online through this auction page. Just hit the 'Register Now' button towards the top of this page and enter your name, phone number, email. Credit card information is required to bid.

How do I start and continue my bidding?

Browse the Online Silent Auction and start bidding on your favorite items! Place your bid on selected items, set a maximum bid if desired, and Givesmart will continue to keep you in the running until you reach your maximum bid.

How can I keep active and know if I am outbid or have won an item?

You will be notified via text if you have been outbid. Keep an eye on your favorite items! If you are NOT receiving the text messages, make sure you have the correct mobile number under your profile. The texts will continue to notify you when you have been outbid or reached your maximum bid. When the silent auction closes, you will also receive a text message if you won any items.

Can I pay by cash/check by mail or in person?

Upon placing your first bid or upon registering at LAM25.givesmart.com, you will be asked to provide your credit card information. Unfortunately, we cannot accept payments by check or cash on the silent auction to ensure all transactions can be fulfilled in a timely manner. However, general donations by check can always be made by and sent to The LAM Foundation.

How will I collect my winnings?

Auction high bidders will be charged when the Online Silent Auction closes on Sunday, August 2. Some items have a shipping fee that will be added to their high bid at check out. Those with additional shipping fees are indicated in their item description. (Only domestic shipping can be provided.)
