BDHH FUND-A-NEED - New Mats and Sheets
The Bishop Dudley Hospitality House has two overnight rooms for our guests to sleep. We have 80 bunks for men and 20 bunks for women however in the winter months we have had over 150 guests staying with us in one evening. Most guests will sleep on a mat with sheets in a bunk, but when we are over capacity they will sleep on their mat on the floor. The foam in the mats we currently have is broken down, they are in desperate need of replacement.
$100 provides a new cushy mat and a set of sheets for a guest of BDHH to sleep on and we need 150 NEW MATS!
BDHH FUND-A-NEED - Family Move Out Basket
The Bishop Dudley House has 7 private rooms with 2 Queen beds for families who have nowhere to call home. Often these families are single mothers with more than one child, but we also host two parent families as well as single fathers! Families move into this space and work with staff to find resources such as employment and housing. When that exciting day comes and a family is ready to move out we want to bless them with all the supplies they need to make their new space feel like their own.
$75 provides a "Welcome to your New Home Basket" that everyone needs to start fresh.
BDHH FUND-A-NEED Self Esteem Men's Kit
Men and Women experiencing homelessness have often lost more than their home, they've lost their confidence in themselves. Simple pleasures we often take for granted like having a clean pair of underwear and hygiene products play a small role in rebuilding our guests self esteem. A guest who doesn't believe they have any worth isn't going to be able to start again. In addition to these small luxuries we work hard at the shelter to build our guests back up so they believe in themselves again.
$50 provides a personal hygiene kit that gives dignity to the guests of BDHH.

Cleaning and Sanitation Supplies
COVID-19 has brought with it many changes to our shelter. Handwashing stations, required masks, increase in sanitation protocols and lots of hand sanitizer just to name a few.
Guests of the Bishop Dudley House take care of their home by sanitizing all surfaces multiple times a day. Our number 1 goal is to keep the shelter as clean as possible to protect the vulnerable population that we serve. This increase in protocols and supplies has not come without significant costs.
$150 provides a week's worth of
cleaning supplies for BDHH.
BDHH FUND-A-NEED - Art Supplies for Guests
Many guests who stay at the Bishop Dudley House are incredibly gifted with artistic talents such as painting, drawing and beading. In addition to this being a craft that they can turn into a business, for many it is their way to de-stress and manage their mental health. Art can be incredibly healing and we have seen these amazing effects on our guests at the Bishop Dudley House.
$60 provides our resident artists with supplies to stimulate their creativity and provide much needed "self care" time to work on a project and feel accomplished.
