On an island flush with artists and artisans, Zach Pinerio has been steadily making a name for himself with his Chappaquiddick Wood Company bowls and serving boards. Every tree has a story on this island and that story is in each piece he crafts in his shop on Chappy. Island-born and bred.

"Each of my products is from a tree that has its own deep history here on Martha's Vineyard. The quality and distinction of the wood on the Island is what drives me. Each tree is a treasure. I make wood products that are intended to be used and shared daily. Over time, my wood products will change in color or appearance based on their environments. Knowing that these products will outlive me is something that never ceases to amaze me. With the right care, my products are made to last a lifetime and to be passed down to future generations."

Dean Racicot landed on our shores a few years back after a 25-year career as a general contractor in Tiverton, Rhode Island. He is a master of many skills. He is a finish carpenter, a stonemason, a metal worker, a master mechanic, and an all-around McGuyver.

Dean has donated a full day, with a helper, of his labor and skill. He is willing to do anything, no job too small, but the winner would be well advised to take advantage of his knowledge and skill. He also comes with a host of positive recommendations, which we are happy to share.

The value of this skilled work is more than $1000.

Nancy Vietor, aka Nancy Blair, has been around Sail MV since the beginning. She has brought her passion, sense of reason, and devotion to using Island waters to educate Island kids throughout her life in Edgartown, and with Sail MV since 1992.

She and Linda Carnegie have worked together for years at Carnegie Blair Designs. Linda is the artist and Nancy is the designer who gets the art onto floor mats, place settings, and serving platters. They are unique and usable pieces that reflect the breadth of the island's artistic community.

Nancy and Linda have graciously donated three sets of four cork-backed placemats that reflect the Island, the sea, and the community of artists on the Martha's Vineyard.

These are some truly unique items and we continue to be grateful for all of the support and guidance we have received from Nancy over the years.

There are few better examples of the maritime heritage of Martha's Vineyard than Gannon & Benjamin Marine Railway. And few better examples of the creative community than author Tom Dunlop and Photographer Alison Shaw.

G&B was launched 40 years ago by Nat Benjamin and Ross Gannon. Since 1980, more than 70 wooden boats rolled down their marine railway on the Vineyard Haven waterfront.

In 1999 they began work on a project to build the 60-foot schooner, Rebecca. The project was captured in the book Schooner, written by Tom Dunlop and beautifully photographed by Alison Shaw.

Ross and Nat have agreed to peel back the curtain and asked Tom and Alison to come along, for an exclusive tour of their shop. At the tour's end, they will all sign a copy of Schooner for the lucky winner. They will also get to look through the photos Alison took for the book and pick their favorite to be framed, and signed by Alison.

This is a truly priceless, one-of-a-kind experience for a lover of wooden boats or someone who appreciates spending time with the best the Vineyard has to offer.

Juno is a 68' schooner launched at Gannon & Benjamin in 2003. She is a world traveler, which is why we do not see nearly enough of Ex Sail MV board member, and Juno's captain, Scott DiBiaso around here.

Scott returns to Juno's home on the Vineyard every summer, usually with more trophies to display and stories to tell.

A sail on Juno has always been one of the more popular items at our annual Seafood Buffet & Auction. We are pleased to be able to offer it again. Eight people will be invited to sail with Scott and his crew on Juno for the afternoon. Scott will tell the stories, you'll be the envy of every passing yacht and we will make sure that you are well fed with Champagne and a cheese platter included.

This is a truly priceless experience and we will help find a time that works out for everyone.

Ross Gannon and Nat Benjamin are amongst our most steadfast supporters. They also craft some exceptional wooden boats at their shop, Gannon and Benjamin Marine Railway, on the Vineyard Haven waterfront.

Back in 2007 after building countless classics for clients, they launched Charlotte, a 50' auxiliary schooner, for themselves.

A sail on Charlotte with Nat has always been one of the more popular auction items at our annual Seafood Buffet and Auction. We are pleased to be able to offer it again. 8 people will be invited to sail with the boys on Charlotte for the afternoon. It's a captive audience to ask every question you want answered about building wooden boats from two of the best. We'll throw in champagne and a cheese platter while you draw the attention of every passing boat.

This is another priceless experience with two craftsmen who through their work continue to live the Vineyard's maritime heritage every day. Time for the sail will occur at a mutually agreed upon date.

Come fly away on the Island famous Magic Carpet. A half-day sail for up to 10 on Magic Carpet, a beautiful, Bristol-maintained classic wooden yawl.

"Mike Mackenty and his family have been on Martha's Vineyard for a while. Somewhere in between college, graduate school, a successful career in healthcare technology and raising a family Mike also found time to become one of the island's skilled craftsman. These Shaker boxes that Mike made especially for our auction is a great example of his prowess. These mahogany and oak boxes are truly one of a kind pieces, created in his workshop on Edgartown Great Pond.

Mike dedicates these boxes to a longtime friend of Sail MV, Sam Warriner, who passed away this spring after a long illness, and requested that remembrances in his name be directed to Sail MV. Mike's father, John, also passed away this spring and we are grateful that Mike carries on the family tradition of supporting the island community.
