It takes some time to learn the basics of these initially complex yet rewarding methods of exercise. Five private sessions will give you a great foundation of movement knowledge and allow Axis to familiarize yourself with the apparatus: the springs and straps on the Pilates apparatus.
Pilates is a method of conditioning that addresses the body and mind at all times. Joseph Pilates called his method "Contrology;" the art and science of control. His central concept was that by creating a strong center, and training the body to move from that strong center, the body can both stretch and strengthen in a balanced, efficient manner. Over 500 exercises created on the mat and on various apparatus help to create a strong core, lengthened muscles and connective tissue, stamina, flexibility, improved coordination and focus. This enhances athletic performance and daily life.
