M. Scott Miller, born in 1969, began his art career in New York after graduating from the Pratt Institute. He is now back in his hometown of Missoula, Montana. His work has appeared in a variety of publications, including The Village Voice, The New York Observer, Popular Mechanics, and several children's books. In 2012, he had a one-man show at the Missoula Art Museum. Miller has done three covers for The New Yorker, the first in 1996. For Miller, doing covers for the The New Yorker was "my big break".
