Inspired by a family tradition of attending the 100th of the Kentucky Derby, Kelsey has literally painted a picture of a day at the races. Her creation is certainly hot to trot and will be a sure bet for countless hours of fun with friends!

In her own words, here is a bit more about Kelsey:

"Hi, my name is Kelsey. I was diagnosed with stage 4b Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2017 when I was just 13-years-old. I have been in remission for 2 years now. I love doing many things, especially things surrounding the arts. I enjoy painting, as it has helped me cope with many anxieties of mine. I also absolutely love listening to music. I don't really have a favorite genre of music, I can pretty much listen to anything from 60s to now. Lastly, reading is probably the biggest hobby of mine, and like music, I can read basically anything. I also love going to libraries and bookstores, especially those not many people know about.

I chose to paint the picture I did on my board for two reasons. One, I knew I wanted to do something pertaining to the Kentucky Derby. And two, this specific picture was inspired from the back of the 100th Kentucky Derby program that my mom kept from when my grandmother, her mom, took her to the Derby in 1974.

If I could name a race horse, I would name them Bluemoon Pie."
