Ellie's sunny attitude is evident in both her cancer journey recap (below) and the Sunflowers she painted - and we think both her artwork and her strength are Sensational!

"Hi! My name is Ellie D. I have 2 older sisters and one older brother. I just turned 18 in March and graduated from Woodstock High School this year. It was hard finishing high school while on chemo but I did it! I will be headed to GCSU this fall to start college where I will be majoring in nursing. I want to be able to help other kids that are going through treatments.

Last June, just before my senior year, I had some pain in my leg and went to the doctor and found out I had bone cancer (chondroblastic osteosarcoma). I spent the next 9 months getting chemo and making the hospital my second home. I had limb salvage surgery in September. Right after I finished chemo the end of February, I got an infection in my leg which we are still fighting now. I have pushed through the past year trying to have the best most positive attitude I could and I have made some new lifetime friends with my nurses and other patients. I have learned to never take anything for granted and to enjoy every moment -because we never know what tomorrow brings. I will be on antibiotics for a few more months and I have scans every 3 months for a few years because there are still a few small spots in my lungs that they have to watch closely.

I hope that one day soon we will have a CURE for this cancer so that no other kids will ever have to go through this again!"

Delivery/Pick-Up: Cornhole boards will NOT be shipped. Boards will be delivered to the winner's home, within a 50 mile radius of Metro-Atlanta, at a pre-arranged time. If winner is outside this standard area, arrangements for delivery will be made at that time via email.
