Two bottles of 2016 St Supery Rutherford Estate Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep hues of purple and red reflect the density of this wine. Aromas of blackberry and raspberry are met with nuances of espresso, dark chocolate mocha, a hint of graphite and toasted oak. Sweet ripe blackberry and black plum dominate the palate with notes of anise and charred oak in the background. This is a centered wine with a tremendous, supple texture. Total value: $250. 3 bottles of Sonoma Cutrer Sonoma Coast Chardonnay 2016. Aromas of nectarine, stone fruit, white peach and oak spice are accented with hints of vanilla, toasted nuts and a touch of butterscotch and light caramel with a subtle cinnamon spice undertone. This wine has the distinctive Sonoma-Cutrer balance between elegance and richness for a medium-bodied, mouth-filling wine. The creamy texture of this wine offers flavors of ripe pear and peach that is balanced with a nice, bright acidity. There is lots of finesse' to the long, silky finish highlighted with long barrel spice notes. This classic, medium-bodied Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is a staple for any wine lover and pairs well with smokey cheeses, many pasta dishes, and late summer vegetables. Total value: $90. 2 bottles of 2016 "JD" Cabernet Sauvignon. The Davies family, proprietors of Schramsberg Vineyards in Napa Valley, presents its tenth vintage of J. Davies jd Diamond Mountain District Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. Like its companion J. Davies Estate bottlings, this red wine is crafted solely from the densely flavored, richly structured fruit grown on the family's hillside property. Aromas of blueberry, red plum and black cherry are accentuated by clove, vanilla and dark chocolate. The palates bright entry of ripe red berry and cranberry is infused with a hint of white pepper and blackberry, sustained with a finish of firm balanced tannins. Total value: $140. 1 bottle of Silver Oak 1992 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. A beautiful ruby hue with slight browning at the rim. It has lovely aromas of humidor and chaparral. Upon entry, this is a broad and rich wine with cassis, violet, and sage flavors. It has moderate acidity and slight grip as it moves through the palate. There is plenty of high quality, smoky oak in the nose to go along with copious quantities of jammy black fruits. To honor John Shafer during this 25th anniversary year, Shafer Vineyards released this one-time bottling of 2001 Shafer 25th Sunspot Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, 25 barrels made from 25 year old Sunspot vines. A rich and seductive style, with smooth, buttery, toasty oak paving the way for a ripe, plush, generous serving of chocolate-covered currant and cherry fruit. Elegant and stylish, it glides along on the finish before the ripe, fleshy tannins become evident. At the time, was only available to members of the Hillside Select list. Value $600. The aromas flow from the glass in a continuous stream and are all marked by radiant intensity. The mouthfeel is long and powerful. The crisp linearity of the wine's tannic backbone is perfectly measured to the volume and depth of the fruit flavors. Blend: 85 % Cabernet Sauvignon 15 % Cabernet Franc.
