Ali Leja's "Row Your Boat"

Ali Leja is a self-taught instinctual painter. She has a feeling of where a color or line should be, she places it on the canvas and then steps back to evaluate. Ali uses large loose brush strokes to create pieces that are abstract expressionistic in style. Her marks are laid down in a quick fashion to keep each stroke fresh and clean.
Ali's work is purposefully happy and each painting is done in such a way to evoke a smile or laughter from her audience. Having overcome many obstacles in her life, Ali makes the conscious choice to focus on positivity. She views her art as a gift that she uses to balance any negativity that she cannot control. Spreading her joy to others through her artwork is a privilege that she does not take lightly.

"Start Something New"
$525This wonderful wilderness of trees, "Start Something New", is the creation of one of the Cathedral's own, Leah Wilkerson of Wilkerson Works. "And suddenly you just know it's time to start something new and trust the magic of the beginning" - Meister Eckhart. This 18"x24"painting is a landscape from deep in the woods that invites the viewer on their new journey! It is framed in a floater frame that creates the illusion that the artwork is "floating" within the frame instead of being covered by it. The gold leaf, wood frame features several brush coats of gold leaf and is finished with the "Old World" technique that shows hand leafing lines between each individual leaf, revealing in thin black separation lines.
Leah is a self taught artist whose purpose in painting is not to yield a masterpiece, but create art that inspires, encourages and gives hope to others.
In addition to selling online, out of her studio and at shows, Leah is also represented by a number of gift shops and artisan boutiques.
