The winning bidder will get the rare opportunity to be the designated angler(s) on a research trip tagging a variety of sportfish in the Gulf of Mexico. The research team of marine biologists from the Center for Sportfish Science and Conservation at the Harte Research Institute at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi carries out a variety of fish tagging research in the Gulf. Two anglers have the opportunity to help collect and tag fish such as Red Snapper and Cobia/Ling onboard the team's 36-foot Yellowfin research vessel. This is an exciting and unique all-day trip (typically lasting 8-12) 40 to 60 miles offshore in the Gulf of Mexico departing from Port Aransas, Texas. This weather-dependent trip will need to occur on a weekday during 2020-2021 on a mutually agreeable date with summer being the most favorable seas and Red Snapper season. All equipment is provided. Donated by Harte Research Institute and Center for Sportfish Science and Conservation.
