Orange Abstract with Circles (2020)
35.45" x 47.25"
Oil, Acrylic, Spray paint and Gesso
I am a multi-media artist. The representation of the circle and its universal appeal is repeated in a serial format. On the canvas a visual tension goes below the surface to a subliminal area of existence. Coexisting from both a philosophical and physical standpoint. Referencing to an outward and inward spatial relationship, the deconstructionism of the picture to a single item; the circle or dot. When I travel, I often carry a painting kit and sketch pad to create watercolors of the towns and regions I see. Watercolors quickly capture the beauty and essence of a place. My oil paintings depend on color. The backgrounds in the paintings have patterns and shapes to capture a mood or emotion. I create street art using an illustrator program before cutting with a 3D printer to get an exact fitted stencil. I use these stencils along with spray paint to cover various surfaces.
