Beverly Kedzior is an abstract modern artist. She realized she was destined to become an artist when in the 1st grade she spotted her painting of a snowman among the rest of the classes' and thought to herself that it was really good. As most youngsters her age, she was fascinated by Disney films, Saturday cartoons and the Sunday funnies. Years later, when she was in art school, she wasn't aware that these childish attractions had affected her work until a classmate commented that she was painting "blobs" again. Since that time, she started to acknowledge where her curving bulbous images originated. She decided to not only embrace this imagery but to expand and enhance it. Years later, she started adding images from medical and DNA books which coincided with the soft curving images she was already using. Her work has been called both whimsical and sophisticated. She often starts her work with a joyous dance of splashed, spilled and splattered paint or she layers found and hand painted paper and fabric to her canvas. Working in an intuitive manner until the background starts to take shape. It is then that she starts "seeing" the imagery and develops the images. She often used children's books) to suggest shapes. The books are turned upside down to see the designs in a pure abstract way.
