Senior Vice President, IP Communications and Services, Comcast Cable

Franklyn Athias, SVP, IP Communications and Services for Comcast Cable has been a driving force in the technology industry for 20+ years. Franklyn, who received his BS in Computer Science from Rochester Institute of Technology presently is working in the Office of the CTO and is responsible for developing and deploying strategic opportunities within cable to extend services for TV, Internet, Digital Voice and Wireless.

During his career with Comcast he has been an integral force spearheading several IP Architecture programs for cable-modem broadband services. Notable accomplishments while with Comcast include serving as the Lead architect for the IMS voice strategy and deployment for residential and business services, Lead Architect for the Comcast.net Internet Service, leading the evaluation process of the industry's first Voice over IP service using cable-modems, working with Comcast Interactive Capital with the technical evaluation of early stage startup companies along with a host of other valuable contributions.

Franklyn is a member of the SCTE and participates in numerous standards making bodies in the cable and wireless arenas. He also holds several United States patents.
