Note from artist: The beauty of turquoise peering through the deep dark spruce, with golden highlights of sun bursting through the thick canopy of forest above. I painted this piece for its contrast and for the persistent vibrant flowers that still find their beauty on the forest floor.

Note from Artist: I hike the trails of Briones East Bay Park frequently. On one day in particular, I snapped photos of the beautiful mountain and went home and painted the image. Mt. Diablo is just a gorgeous tower of rolling and rambling beauty.
