The American Cancer Society research budget is at risk. Deep cuts in our research funding could mean a generation of cancer research lost. A lack of funding could deter early-stage investigators from the cancer research field. For cancer patients this could be devastating and life threatening.
We need research to better understand health disparities, what causes them, and how to decrease them. This year alone the American Cancer Society is slated to fund nearly 60 health equity research grants. We can't stop now. In fact we need to do more. We are fighting for a future where everyone has a fair and just opportunity to survive cancer.
As we lean into this crisis, must stay committed to raising the funding required to save a generation of research and to ensure ALL cancer patients have a fighting chance.
With your support, we will ensure the positive momentum of lifesaving cancer research is not lost. By doing so, together we will improve quality of life, develop more effective cancer treatments, identify better prevention and early detection measures, address health disparities and ultimately save lives.
