Because of the risk that potential exposure to the coronavirus could cause to the Checkmates band members who are all MD Anderson doctors and staff, the cancer patients they treat, and our guests, we have made the decision to postpone the upcoming Checkmates Benefit Concert until further notice. The safety and wellbeing of our guests and our community is Halo House's top priority.
All existing tickets and sponsorships will be honored upon rescheduling of this event.
We apologize for any inconvenience our decision may cause and we thank you for your understanding and continued support of Halo House.
Founded in 2009, Halo House's mission is to help cancer patients battling leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma who must travel to the Texas Medical Center for life-saving treatment by providing them with temporary housing for about $25/day. They come to Houston because treatment is either not available locally, or it has failed, and treatment at the TMC is their best chance of survival. To date, Halo House has served over 475 families and provided over 30,000 days of housing!
Thanks to our wonderful supporters, Halo House's new 42,500 square foot building opened in May, 2019!
