Splendor in the Garden is a fundraising event for the American Folk Art Museum (AFAM), whose mission is to support self-taught art across time and place. Since 1961, AFAM has been a leader in the field, offering a platform for diverse voices and bringing previously unrecognized artists and art forms to the forefront. Please join us as we gather together, safely, to kick off the Museum's 60th anniversary.
Splendor in the Garden will be a celebration on the great lawn of the home of Lana Masor, Principal Designer and Owner of Maison Masor LLC in Montclair, NJ. It will include cocktails, an art auction, a celebrity DJ, surprise celebrity guests, delicious catered food, and a fabulously decorated home filled with art. The event will be COVID-19 compliant, and a shuttle service will be available to and from the event. The shuttle will be leaving at 4 pm from the American Folk Art Museum in Manhattan.
VIP tickets are available! The VIP experience starts at 4 pm with a special preview at 4 Flavors Art of their groundbreaking exhibition of the master printmaker and Director of the David C. Driskell Center, Curlee Raven Holton. Both works created by Curlee Raven Holton himself and his collaborative work with leading contemporary artists, including Emma Amos, Sam Gilliam, Richard Mayhew, and Faith Ringgold, will be on display. LeKool Champagne will be served for VIP attendees with founding partner Robert "Kool" Bell of Kool & The Gang in attendance. A free shuttle bus for VIP guests leaves from the American Folk Art Museum at 3 pm.
Rain date: June 6th, 2021. Please scroll down for more information and FAQs.

About the event

We are excited to be partnering with 4 Flavors Art to celebrate art and community in a beautiful outdoor setting.

The party is outside! What should I wear?

Splendor in the Garden is a garden party; we will be walking on grass and gravel. Please no high-heeled shoes and dress appropriately. Also, be sure to check the weather and bring sunglasses or a sweater depending on the forecast. There will be a tent for gathering.

What is the rain day?

We will be reviewing the weather leading up to the party. If it looks like rain, we will move the party to June 6th and notify all our guests.

Please see the information above. If there are any updates about our procedures due to COVID-19 cases in New York and New Jersey, we will update our guests.

How does the shuttle work?

Shuttle bus service for regular ticket holders will leave from the American Folk Art Museum at 4pm, and will return to the AFAM at the end of the night. Tickets are $25 and available HERE.
The shuttle bus is included in the purchase of the VIP ticket and will pick up VIP guests on June 5th at 3:00 pm at the American Folk Art Museum (2 Lincoln Square, New York, NY).
All riders who choose to take the shuttle do so at their own risk. It will be a shared space, so if you are concerned about enclosed spaces during COVID-19, we suggest using a different form of transportation.
