Book: REAL LIFE DRAMA written by Wendy Smith
ABOUT THE BOOK
Dense in character, incident, and ideas, Smith's book is a compassionate history of The Group Theatre (1931-1940) and the turbulent Depression-era that produced, adulated, and ground it up. Most of the greats in American actor training and theater practice came together in a blaze of idealism to change the quality of theater in this country by developing a high level of realistic ensemble acting and a theater directly responsive to political realities. Change theater they did, though not quite in the ways they intended. This book tells their story better than it has been told before. Its research is substantial, it is well written, and it is committed to what was right and lasting in The Group.
ABOUT WENDY SMITH
Wendy Smith is a contributing editor at The American Scholar and the author of Real Life Drama: The Group Theatre and America, 1931-1940. She has been a frequent contributor to the Los Angeles Times Book Review, The Washington Post's Book World, and the Chicago Tribune. She is also an enthusiastic supporter of Red Bull!

ABOUT THE RESTAURANT
Chefs Alex Raij and Eder Montero are the husband and wife team behind this bustling Cobble Hill Brooklyn restaurant. La Vara celebrates the Jewish and Moorish legacies in regional Spanish cuisine- perfumed with aromas of saffron, cumin, and orange blossom. The bold and improvisational nature of our menu showcases food and wine that is contemporary, original, and authentic all at once.
Check out their menu here!
ABOUT MICHELIN GUIDE POINT OF VIEW
Chef Alex Raij knows her tapas and helped kick-start the craze in Manhattan when she opened beloved Tía Pol years ago, before moving on to the equally popular El Quinto Pino. In 2012, the chef jumped boroughs to Brooklyn and opened La Vara, which she co-owns with husband, Eder Montero. Billing itself as "cocina casera" or "home cooking," this kitchen elevates humble cuisine to such impressive levels that it's proved well worth the cab trip for non-Brooklynites. Product quality is excellent, and the playful spirit behind dishes is the definition of creative cooking. Menu highlights include salmorejo, a delicate and flavorful salt cod carpaccio, and crispy suckling pig, with confit-tender meat. End with melocoton, or wine-poached peaches in a light custard.

Theater For New Audience: 2 tickets to WAITING FOR GODOT!
DATES
April 25 - May 24, 2020
ABOUT THE SHOW
Directed by Arin Arbus
Written by Samuel Beckett
Since their first appearance in a tiny Paris theater in 1953, Samuel Beckett's iconic down-and-outs Vladimir and Estragon have rarely been off the stage. Nearly every evening, somewhere on the globe, they show up for their dubious appointment with a savior named Godot who never comes, filling time with games and musing aphoristically on existence. Hilarious and heartbreaking, Waiting for Godot is the modern theater's indispensable document of rootlessness, uncertainty, and perpetually postponed deliverance.
ABOUT TFANA

Jeffrey Hatcher Day
$0Enjoy spending time with well known playwright, Jeffrey Hatcher!
Jeffrey Hatcher adapted The Alchemist, Red Bull's next upcoming production! Sit and and watch a tech rehearsal and to see him work with the cast and creative team. Also, enjoy a coffee or a quick bite to eat with him during your time together. In addition, you will also receive two preview tickets to the show!
ABOUT JEFFERY HATCHER
Jeffrey Hatcher is an American playwright and screenwriter. He wrote the screenplay Casanova for director Lasse Hallström, as well as the screenplay for The Duchess (2008). His many award-winning original plays have been performed on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regionally across the US and abroad.
ABOUT THE ALCHEMIST
The greed and absurdity of Jonson's Jacobean London have never shone more brilliantly than in this brand new adaptation by Jeffrey Hatcher, whose version of inane corruption à la Gogol delighted Red Bull audiences in The Government Inspector. Claiming alchemical powers, quick-witted con men Face and Subtle, together with the brilliantly sexy prostitute Dol Common, scam a series of chumps that they lure to the respectable Blackfriars house where they've set up shop. Jonson's legendary satire spared no one, and Hatcher ensures today's audience doesn't miss a beat, in this side-splitting update of classic comedy at its best.

ABOUT THE SHOW
Written by Eugene O'Neill
Directed by Ciarán O'Reilly
Proud and tempestuous Cornelius Melody (Con) owns a run-down inn and tavern near Boston in 1828. Laden with debt, Con clings to his tenuous identity as a landed gentleman and war hero and chastises his wife and daughter for actions that expose the family's humble Irish origins. When his daughter, Sara, falls in love with a wealthy American guest at their inn, Con's pride drives him to an explosive reckoning with his true place in the New World.
A Touch of the Poet, Eugene O'Neill's tragic tale about an immigrant's experience and generational aspiration, was the first work written for the playwright's famously unfinished cycle about societal ambition and the American dream.
