Spend time relaxing and learning the art of silk painting. Choose between a small bag or silk circles to learn how to sketch out a photo of your choice, learn how to apply resist, and finally paint and set the silk with heat. You will be provided with the paint, brushes, marker to sketch and resist. This is suitable for grades 3 to adult!

Painting was a favorite pastime of Maye's.

Maye painted later in life and became very passionate about painting. She was involved in education in different ways. She supported and volunteered at organizations such as Literacy Volunteers and the Teatown Lake Reservation where she as a guide for school children.

The 2's room has been doing an artist study unit and most recently focused on Jackson Pollock. This painting is currently displayed in the Chilton House hallway.

It is approximately 12ft x 6ft, on duck fabric, with tempera paint.

We will communicate with the winning family when and how you will be able to pick this gorgeous item up. The earliest Chilton House will be able to part with it is at spring break.
