You have the opportunity to team up with Coach Jacie Hoyt and spread hope to a child who is battling cancer, by sponsoring him or her for a special day on campus.
Coach Hoyt and UMKC Women's Hoops will surprise a pediatric cancer patient/survivor to an amazing experience where they can enjoy a day where they are not thinking about their cancer diagnosis or treatment schedule, and can take in all the excitement of basketball. Thanks to the University of Missouri-Kansas City, "Wish Upon a Roo" will include the following:
- Four game day tickets (pending season schedule), a locker room visit, the opportunity to attend game day shoot around (or day before practice), the opportunity to sit on the bench during early pre-game warm ups, and an autographed jersey.
*The exact details of the experience are subject to change pending covid-19 university guidelines, UMKC Women's Basketball schedule changes and the health/safety of the selected child.
With this package, the American Cancer Society will identify a pediatric cancer patient through our local partnerships and pair him/her with Coach Hoyt. Following the child's Wish Upon a Roo experience, the winning bidder(s) will receive photos to showcase the day enjoyed by the patient or survivor and their family.
Selected children for this experience must be younger than 7th grade, due to NCAA recruiting guidelines.
