A fighter all his life, both in and out of the ring, he initially found fame as a champion boxer, celebrated for his unorthodox ring style and witty talk before, during, and after fights. But his charisma and commitment to social and political causes saw him transcend boxing to become one of the most famous people on the planet. Ali died on June 3, 2016. Longtime farmers Ray and Pam Derby originally intended to grow and sell grapes from their three vineyards in San Luis Obispo County: Derbyshire, Derby, and Laura's Vineyard. After many years as a Grape grower, Ray saw the potential of each vineyard and in 2006 he and Pam created Derby Wine Estates. Using just 20 select acres for their own brand, the Derbys continue to sell the remainder of their 400 planted acres. The diversity of each vineyard is the core of Derby Wine Estates.
In 2010, the Derbys purchased the historical Paso Robles Almond Growers Building and began rejuvenating it. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival traces its roots back to the Chautauqua movement, which brought culture and entertainment to rural areas of the country in the late 19th century. Soquel Vineyards was established in 1987 when twin brothers Peter and Paul Bargetto, and their childhood friend Jon Morgan decided to develop their own label and ended up producing some of the best wines in the Santa Cruz Mountains Appellation.

Their 3 acre hillside vineyard (originally a part of a 52 acre parcel that was once owned by Peter and Paul's grandfather) supplies the winery with Pinot Noir fruit, while the remainder is sourced from various vineyards from the Santa Cruz Mountains, Paso Robles, and Napa Valley.

There are many interesting facts about the property like the handmade Italian roof tiles date back to the mid-1700s; Jon Morgan fashioned the winery doors from an old 12,000-gallon redwood tank salvaged from the original Bargetto winery; the driveway is lined with Italian cypress that were planted by Peter, his son Simone and father-in-law Michael Chissotti. Inside the stylish tasting room there is a custom made inlaid wood tasting counter with a large Italian-made tapestry. Large glass doors lead out to the patios and vineyard, with an amazing view of Monterey Bay. They love sharing their beautiful home with friends and family who appreciate fine wines.

Tacubaya is a taqueria in the 4th Street shopping district of Berkeley. It is named after the neighborhood in Mexico City where famed architect Luis Barragan lived. Much like Barragan's modern architecture, which in its purity and simplicity was respectful of tradition, they wanted to create a taqueria that paid respect to traditional dishes such as: sopa de tortilla, tacos al pastor, and tamales con verduras. Tacubaya has allowed them to recreate the beloved dishes usually found in Mexico at street vendor stands and in home kitchens and family taquerias.

The Cheesecake Factory story begins in Detroit, Michigan in the 1940's. Evelyn Overton found a recipe in the local newspaper that would inspire her "Original" Cheesecake. Everyone loved her recipe so much that she decided to open a small Cheesecake shop, but she eventually gave up her dream of owning her own business in order to raise her two small children, David and Renee. She moved her baking equipment to a kitchen in her basement and continued to supply cakes to several of the best restaurants in town while raising her family. In 1972, with their children grown, Evelyn and her husband Oscar decided to pack up all of their belongings and move to Los Angeles to make one last attempt at owning their own business. With the last of their savings, they opened The Cheesecake Factory Bakery and began selling Evelyn's cheesecakes to restaurants throughout Los Angeles. Through hard work and determination their business grew to a modest size and Evelyn was soon baking more than 20 varieties of cheesecakes and other desserts.

With great foresight and intuition, their son David decided to open a restaurant to showcase his mother's selection of cheesecakes. Somehow he just knew that guests would enjoy a restaurant with an extensive dessert menu. It was 1978 and he opened the first The Cheesecake Factory restaurant in Beverly Hills, CA. The restaurant was an immediate success and today there are more than 200 The Cheesecake Factory restaurants around the world that share the Overton's commitment to quality and spirit of innovation and hard work.

Three generations, four decades, five ranches - our family is deeply rooted in the Sonoma County wine industry. Dedicated farmers for forty years, brothers Mark and Vic Trione own and cultivate close to 600 vineyard acres in three prime Sonoma County appellations: Russian River Valley, Alexander Valley and Sonoma Coast. Trione winery is located next to a 1908 landmark stone building at the Home Ranch in Alexander Valley. Respecting history and tradition, our family restored the Old Stone Building, preserving the history and authentic character. The storied building, carefully erected to be earthquake-proof, features the area's first concrete floor and magnificent Douglas fir beams. It now serves as the winery's venue for events. Trione treasures its local history and was able to retain the original bond number, 350, that was given to its predecessor, Nervo Winery. The might of an aircraft carrier lies in its ability to quickly move about the world's oceans, projecting power whenever and wherever it is needed. The heart of a carrier's combat strength is its aircraft; her Air Groups provided Hornet's lethal sting. Hornet's success was dependent on the capabilities of highly trained pilots and aircrews and the specialized aircraft that operated from her flight deck.

In World War II, her air groups consisted of a fighter (VF) squadron, a bombing (VB) squadron and a torpedo (VT) squadron. During the 1950s as naval warfare technology evolved, so too did the complexity and specialty of carrier-based aircraft. Joining the classic fighter and attack aircraft were electronic/early warning, photo-reconnaissance, and anti-submarine warfare aircraft. Dual-role aircraft also provided aerial tanking and limited cargo capabilities and helicopters proved essential to carrier operations which included search and rescue missions.
