Finding affordable housing during medical treatment in NYC can be a huge challenge. COVID has made this financial burden even greater. Candlelighters NYC is proud to partner with the Band of Parents to provide subsidized housing to families in need of lodging while in NYC for treatment. The rooms at The Residence Inn are spacious, clean and include a kitchenette - an amenity that really is a must when traveling for a child's treatment. It sounds simple, but having a refrigerator to store medications and a microwave/stovetop in the room to warm up the one thing a child will actually eat, is truly a gift for which our families are grateful.
Due to the high demand, a nightly contribution is still needed from families depending on market demand and room availability.
